MESSAGE
FROM THE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
I
would like to extend to prospective AIOU students a
very warm welcome to the Commonwealth Executive Master
of Business Administration and Public Administration (CEMBA/MPA)
Programmes.
As
the President of the Commonwealth of Learning, and
organization dedicated to building capacity in
developing countries, I am pleased that you may be
considering enrolling in a unique execuvtive
leadership and management education programme that is
highly-regarded throughout the Commonwealth and
beyond.
Expanding
Your Option
The
CEMBA / MPA courses were developed by subject matter
exerts from universities in Australia, New Zealand,
Sri Lanka, India, and Canada, and each Partner
University provides learner support through tutors and
local study centres and localised supplementary
learning materials.
The
Programmes provide flexible study options for busy
managers and working professionals, Students may
choose from two fields of study: Business
Administration (MBA) or Public Adminstration (MPA),
with the option of :
Studying
at any of the Partner Universities and receiving
recognized and bona fide transfer of credits;
Multiple
Programme exit points, with the option of earning a
post-graduate diploma or a Masters degree, in as
little as two years.
Steady
Programme Growth:
Since
2006, CEMBA / MPA Programmes have expanded to Ghana (Kwame
Nkrumah University of Science and Technology);
Malaysia (Wawasan Open University); and Nigeria
(National Open University of Nigeria). By December
2007, three additional Partner Universities are
expected to offer the Programmes.
They
will join the four original CEMBA / MPA universities:
Allama Iqbal Open University; Bangladesh Open
University, Indira Gandhi National Open University
(India), and the Open University of Sri Lanka.
In
mid-2007, COL will be working with Allama Iqbal Open
University, Bangladesh Open University and Wawasan
Open University (Malaysia) to convert existing CEMBA /
MPA courses into a suitable format for online
delivery.
